Denver Regional Council of Governments elects 2025 board officers

Jeff Baker, county commissioner of Arapahoe County, elected as Board Chair for the Denver Regional Council of Governments for 2025-2026 year.

Denver- The Denver Regional Council of Governments has elected its officers to serve a one-year term effectively immediately. Elected by vote on February 19 to lead the board of directors are:
- Jeff Baker, Arapahoe County Commissioner, chair.
- Colleen Whitlow, Mayor, Town of Mead, vice chair.
- Richard Kondo, Councilman, City of Northglenn, secretary.
- Jeslin Shahrezaei, Mayor Pro Tem, City of Lakewood, treasurer.
Steve Conklin, Mayor, City of Edgewater, will serve as immediate past chair.
"I'm honored to chair the Denver Regional Council of Governments, and look forward to continuing to work with the dedicated board members from across our region," Baker said. "The regional collaboration that DRCOG cultivates is key to many of the issues facing our area, including transportation, our aging population, the environment and housing challenges."

Rex, executive director of DRCOG. “We have some real opportunities to make life better for area residents, but it will require strong leadership to achieve them. And I welcome the opportunity to continue working alongside Chair Jeff Baker, who brings immense talent, energy and commitment to lead this organization over the course of this next year.”
The DRCOG board of directors meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. In addition to its monthly meeting, board work sessions are held at 4 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. Audio, video and presentations from both the meeting and work sessions are posted online each month. DRCOG currently has 59 participating member governments. In addition, the governor appoints three non-voting representatives to the board, and RTD has a non-voting representative.
